Becks: ‘Being away kills me’
|
It’s no secret that football wizard David Beckham is a sensitive sod, and the 34-year-old star has been telling the press how painful it’ll be to be separated from the family when he heads off to Milan for six months.
Becks is desperate to be picked for England’s 2010 World Cup campaign, and knows his only hope is to spend some time with the proper footballers at AC Milan rather than the hobbling jokers he’s been hanging out with in LA. He’ll be heading to Italy in January and will stay there until June.
“The biggest thing for me is I go away and leave my family for six months,” moaned Goldenballs. “They come over and see me for a week every eight weeks. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about my children, about my wife and my family and I hate being away from them. Being away from my family and my children kills me.
“But I need to do everything possible to give myself a chance [of going to the World Cup]. It’s always a roller-coaster in my career and it is going to be like that for the next six to eight months.”
Still, at least Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and four-year-old Cruz will have a celebrity replacement to stand in for their famous dad in the coming months. Rumour has it that mum Victoria’s helping supermodel Kate Moss find a Los Angeles home.
